(ECNS) -- A China-invested dual-fuel ro-ro ship, carrying 5,000 Chinese brands vehicles and machineries set sail from Shanghai for Europe on Wednesday.
Built for SAIC Anji Logistics, the vessel, named SAIC Anji Sincerity, is 200 meters long, 38 meters wide and 13 stories high, with a displacement of 40,000 tons and a capacity of 7,600 passenger cars.
It boasts the world's largest LNG dual-fuel ro-ro ship.
The dual-powered vessel can reduce the carbon emission by 30 percentage, meeting the emission requirements of some developed countries and regions, including North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
According to Saic Anji Logistics, the owner of the vessel, it will operate on European routes and Australia-New Zealand routes with an annual capacity of approximately 30,000 units.
The company owns 31 container ships and operates seven international cargo routes to East Asia, Mexico, south America and Europe.
In the next three years, a total of 14 cargo ships with capacities of 7,000, 7,600, 7,800, and 9,000 vehicles respectively will join the company, and the total capacity is expected to reach 500,000 vehicles per year.
