Promoting the integration of culture and tourism in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region can not only drive the development of local industries, but also foster interaction and exchanges among different ethnic groups, said Muyasser Tohti, a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice-president of Xinjiang Arts University.

"It's also an opportunity for all ethnic groups to delve into the rich tapestry of Chinese history and culture," she said at the ongoing two sessions in Beijing on Saturday.

According to Tohti, Xinjiang has a large number of resources that reflect the characteristics of Chinese culture, such as the ruins of the Jiaohe and Beiting city, and the excellent cultural works of various ethnic groups such as the Uyghur Muqam art and the Kazakh Aitys art.

These cultural resources witness the close kinship, mutual assistance, and coexistence of various ethnic groups, showcasing the diverse and integrated pattern of Chinese civilization, she said.

"We keep uncovering and using historical facts, artifacts, and cultural treasures from the interactions among Xinjiang's different ethnic groups. With cultural tourism, we're showcasing Chinese culture through real, hands-on experiences," she said.

Xinjiang is emerging as a prime tourist destination with a robust blend of culture and tourism. Tohti extends her invitation to people from other provinces, cities and regions to explore Xinjiang for leisure and investment opportunities.

Additionally, special projects highlighting Xinjiang's rich culture, intangible heritage, and historical artifacts are being organized to foster friendly exchanges and showcase Xinjiang's openness and confidence.

"We're aiming to establish Xinjiang as a top-notch destination with our 'Xinjiang is a great place' brand. Leveraging platforms like 'Pomegranate Cloud', we'll use engaging visuals such as music and films to introduce Xinjiang to the world," she explained.
