This accomplishment was reported by Jimu News, a news portal based in Hubei province, on Monday.
The record-holder, Yang Binglin, currently residing in Sichuan province, ventured into the world of video game vlogging four years ago on Bilibili. Garnering the admiration of over 280,000 followers, Yang's passion for gaming and dedication to sharing his experiences have made him a beloved figure among the gaming community.
After concluding his career in oil and gas drilling research and engineering in Sichuan in 1996, Yang embraced hobbies like table tennis and electronic gaming. Nicknamed "Gamer Grandpa," he transitioned from smaller games to more complex titles such as Tomb Raider and Call of Duty, amassing a collection of over 500 game discs from his explorations of gaming stores nationwide.
In Yang's own words, becoming a vlogger has brought him a sense of honor. He treasures the interactions with his thousands of young fans, expressing gratitude for the heartfelt gift of a PS5, the latest game console, from his followers. While emphasizing the importance of balancing gaming with study or work, he advises young gamers to immerse themselves in gaming with plans and schedules, ideally after retirement.
Despite his profound passion for video games, Yang maintains a disciplined lifestyle, engaging in activities like playing table tennis at 7:30 am, grocery shopping at 9:30 am, a dedicated three-hour gaming session starting at 3 pm, and retiring for the night at 9:30 pm.
To his grandson, Yang Yihuan, "Gamer Grandpa" remains young within the gaming world, displaying eagerness to explore new technologies. Yang's love for treasure-hunting games allows him to virtually experience various cultures and historical settings. According to Yang Yihua, "Grandpa does not excessively indulge in gaming despite his passion; he maintains a strict sense of self-discipline, setting aside dedicated time for gaming each day and diligently taking notes on game strategies."
