5.5-magnitude quake hits 132 km SSE of Shizunai-furukawacho, Japan -- USGS

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 hit 132 km SSE of Shizunai-furukawacho, Japan at 02:01:05 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 30.32 km, was initially determined to be at 41.2572 degrees north latitude and 143.0619 degrees east longitude.
