Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the total tally to 11,821.

According to the CHP, two of the new cases were imported and the remaining one was a local case involving a four-year-old boy, which had an unknown infection source.

The last time Hong Kong saw an untraceable case of COVID-19 was on May 7.

More than 20 close contacts of the boy, including his kindergarten teachers and schoolmates, will undergo compulsory quarantine, head of the CHP's Communicable Disease Branch Chuang Shuk-kwan told a press briefing, adding that there were less than five preliminarily positive cases.

The latest shipment of about 740,000 doses of the BioNTech vaccine, filled and finished in Germany, arrived in Hong Kong on Friday, the Health Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government said.

Hong Kong launched a COVID-19 vaccination drive on Feb. 26. Official data showed some 1,888,400 vaccine doses have been administered in Hong Kong as of Friday, with about 750,400 people fully vaccinated against the virus.
