The Foreign Ministry of Libya's UN-backed government on Tuesday extended condolences to Lebanon over the deadly explosions at the Port of Beirut.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its full solidarity with the Lebanese people and extends its deep condolences to the victims of the explosions that occurred on Tuesday evening in the Port of Beirut, wishing a speedy recovery for all the wounded," the ministry said.
Two huge explosions rocked Beirut on Tuesday at around 6:10 p.m. local time (1610 GMT), leaving at least 73 people dead and more than 3,000 others wounded.
Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab declared Wednesday a national mourning day for the victims of the explosions and appealed for friendly countries to help Lebanon overcome the repercussions of the disastrous explosions.
