Chinese high school seniors studying online amid epidemic: survey

A recent survey showed that more than 81.3 percent of Chinese senior high school students accessed online courses from home during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The survey, conducted by Peking University, pooled 33,194 students and 5,667 teachers from 164 senior high schools in 10 provincial-level regions.

About 80.7 percent of the teacher respondents said they gave classes live online, while 31.4 percent of the student respondents said they asked questions to teachers online, according to the survey.

Digital textbooks and exam papers were popular amid the epidemic, with 43.6 percent of students using e-textbooks, and 78 percent taking exams online.

The survey also found that 18.4 percent of the student respondents saw their scores improve during the epidemic.
