An ancient tomb believed to date back to the Liao and Jin dynasties (907-1234) has been discovered in the city of Qinhuangdao, north China's Hebei Province, local authorities said Tuesday.
The tomb, located in Jiuxian Village in Funing District, measures four meters long, two meters high and three meters wide. It was built of bricks and stone.
It was found on a slope at a roadside.
"We unearthed some debris of porcelain bowls from the tomb, which indicate the tomb was built in the Liao and Jin dynasties," said Yang Dahai, director of the cultural relics preservation institute in Funing District.
It is a single burial tomb, but the identity of the tomb owner is unknown for no epigraph has been found so far.
