Fifteen modules of negative pressure isolation rooms designed and preassembled by a Chinese enterprise have been delivered to the Republic of Korea (ROK) to help the country quickly receive patients infected with COVID-19 and effectively fight against the pandemic.

The delivery follows a contract between the Broad Group in central China's Hunan province and the Seoul National University Hospital. The company had previously provided non-electric central air conditioning and fresh air system to customers from many regions of ROK, according to corporate sources.

The first batch of isolation rooms with 24 beds, manufactured by the Broad Sustainable Building Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Broad Group, is expected to arrive in the ROK Friday, and the second and third batches will be produced and delivered in April, said the sources.

The negative pressure isolation rooms are divided into five areas, namely the heavily polluted area, polluted area, half polluted area, half clean area and clean area. Through the negative pressure fresh air system and the ozone concentration automatic control technology, the fresh air can blow into the room, and effectively prevent the medical workers from being infected.

At the same time, the indoor polluted air can be discharged from the ozone sterilization pipeline to avoid polluting the environment. The isolation rooms could be used immediately after medical equipment and beds are installed.

"It takes the workers one to two days to unpack and assemble a room and to adjust the systems inside before it can be put into operation," said Yang Guangyao, vice president of the Broad Group, who also leads the Broad Sustainable Building Co., Ltd.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Broad Group has launched anti-epidemic products such as ozone disinfection cabin and provided more than 400 sets of air purification machines with strong disinfection and sterilization function for Huoshenshan, Leishenshan and other makeshift hospitals in Wuhan, a city hit hard by COVID-19.

The delivery of the negative pressure isolation room to the ROK has provided a good solution for other countries to fight the epidemic, said Yang, adding that they hoped that their company can provide assistance to the protection of medics and community environment, using sophisticated technologies and experience gained from international cooperation of many years, and make new contribution to containing the pandemic from spreading all over the world, treating and curing COVID-19 patients.
