China will adjust Hainan's air space structure on Thursday to improve operation efficiency, sources with the Civil Aviation Administration of China said Wednesday.
After the adjustment, an additional 294 km air route will be created in China's island province of Hainan and the island's original "single-plank bridge" air route will be restructured into two parallel air routes for one-way cycle operation.
The original air route has nearly 400 air flights per day and the adjustment will prevent them from head-to-head confrontation thanks to the two new air routes which will be operated independently.
Air transport has always been a major transportation channel for the island province of Hainan, making up 84 percent of the passenger turnover in its travel system.
