The selection of the winners of China's ninth Mother River Award, a prominent honor for individuals and groups for their contribution to promoting ecological conservation among youth and children, has been launched, the organizer said Monday.
This year's award will be granted to no more than 100 winners in five categories, including model individuals, organizations and programs, according to the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC).
The selection will also reflect the new requirement and situation, such as promoting trash sorting among youth and children.
Founded in 2000 by the CYLC Central Committee and various central authorities, the Mother River Award is granted every two years.
