Serbia sits atop the latest FIBA World Cup Power Rankings for the third straight time, while Australia has surpassed defending champions the United States into second.

After the first round of the World Cup, FIBA has trimmed the Power Rankings to the 16 teams to have qualified for the second round, and also lost the Competition System clause from the Power Rankings format, essentially making this a review of one team's power through the first round.

As for top-ranked Serbia, FIBA commented, "Still unbeaten since February. And as long as that run is still alive, Serbia will stay at the top of the Power Rankings. And at the top of all the other, more important rankings."

FIBA also shed light on Serbia's shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic, playing in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings.

"Especially if Bogdan Bogdanovic continues his torment of others with a 15-of-23 success rate from three point range since the World Cup started. To put it in perspective - Bogdanovic alone knocked down 15 triples. Lithuania as a team made 16 three-pointers in China," FIBA pointed out.

Unbeaten in three group matches, Australia was powered by small forward Joe Ingles, who was just one assist away from the first ever triple-double in the FIBA Basketball World Cup history, with his 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists against Senegal.

Team USA survived overtime to defeat Turkey en route to its own perfect winning record.

"USA went through a scare against Turkey, but that overtime win could be a huge warning sign for all the others, who might be thinking 'oh yeah, we can take this USA team on any day!'" FIBA noted.

The fourth to 16th-placed teams on the rankings are France, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Lithuania, Greece, Italy, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
