China captain Wu Haiyan told Xinhua on Thursday that all her teammates were very much looking forward to the first encounter against Germany and they have been well-prepared to challenge the strong opponents.

Some of the Chinese players talked to the media after the training on Thursday. Wu believed there would be many opportunities for China in the first game.

"We wish to show the best from the preparation. German players are strong and fast and they'll push us very tightly, but we're ready for this. There won't be any easy game during the World Cup and we hope to play the best of ourselves to challenge them," said Wu.

As a member of the national squad in 2016 Rio Olympics, Wang Shanshan had experienced the quarterfinal where China lost 1-0 to Germany. The 29-year-old forward is expecting to meet them again and hopes to do something different.

"The game is approaching closer day by day and I'm getting more and more excited," said Wang, "Every team in this tournament desire to win. I've become more experienced and grown-up."

Zhang Rui, as one of the veterans ever playing at 2015 World Cup, told Xinhua this tournament might be her last World Cup journey.

"I don't want to play three games in the group and go home. We want to play the leading role in the World Cup stage," said Zhang, "The German team are definitely studying everyone of us, and we have the same analysis on them as well. Let's see which side will be turned down."

The game between China and Germany will kick off at Roazhon Park, Rennes at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
