Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that his country is "looking forward" to U.S. President Donald Trump's "Deal of the Century" for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Netanyahu made the remark ahead of a meeting with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, Trump's senior advisor and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, and U.S. peace envoy Jason Greenblatt.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Warsaw Middle East conference, the prime minister's office said in a statement.

"I look forward to receiving the plan," Netanyahu told Pence, adding that he will "look at it once it is presented."

Hailing the "strong ally" between the United States and Israel, Netanyahu said he knows "the Trump administration seeks to ensure the security of Israel for generations."

Pence thanked Netanyahu for his commitment to the alliance between the two countries, adding that "Israel is our cherished ally."

Parts of Trump's long-stalled "Deal of the Century" to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were reported to be presented at the conference.

But on Thursday, Kushner said the plan would be presented only after Israel's general elections on April 9.

The last round of U.S.-brokered peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians reached an impasse in 2014, amid Israel's continuing expansion of the settlement in the occupied West Bank.

Over the past years, Netanyahu, who is supported by Israel's right and extreme right wing, has said several times that he will never agree to return occupied lands, while vowing that a Palestinian state will not be established during his tenure. Enditem
