Leaders of a college in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have been punished for allowing vulgar questions to appear in exam papers.
The executive director of Beihai College of Art and Design, surnamed Zheng, resigned for compiling offensive questions in the school's final exam, according to a notice issued by the Education Department of Guangxi on Wednesday.
The controversial questions that appeared on the exam paper include "What is the advantage of being HIV positive?", "Have you had sex?", and "Have you thought about having babies for the future of the country?"
Students of the school posted pictures of the test paper on social media on Sunday and expressed reluctance to answer the questions, doubting whether the exam tested their academic abilities.
An investigation launched by the Education Department of Guangxi shows that the test paper was compiled by Zheng for freshmen and sophomores, and it contained vulgar and misleading content, which had a bad influence on students.
The region's educational authorities have ordered the school to criticize itself and rectify the situation. Three other school officials - a vice-president, the head of the academic affairs office and the head of the student affairs office - were removed from their posts.
