The number of Chinese exhibitors at InnoTrans, the railway industry trade fair, in Berlin has been growing steadily for years, Senior Vice President InnoTrans Matthias Steckmann told Xinhua on Wednesday.

Around 180 Chinese exhibitors, with a total of exhibiting area of more than 6,000 square metres, have attended the bi-annual railway industry trade fair, the fourth largest after Germany, France and Italy, Steckmann said.

"This is reflected in the growing importance of China's mobility industry, not just at InnoTrans," Steckmann added.

According to him, this year's InnoTrans is more compact, innovative and informative than ever before. Innovations can be found in all five segments at InnoTrans: Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction, Steckmann said.

Some 3,062 exhibitors from 61 countries and regions with over 400 new products have participated in the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Over 62 percent of them are foreign participants.

"We look forward to the Chinese mobility industry's growing participation in InnoTrans," Steckmann concluded.
