Team China ranked first in the relay race event Thursday at the International Army Games 2018 "Seaborne Assault."

During the two-day competition, crews from Iran, Russia, Sudan, Venezuela and China drove amphibious infantry fighting vehicles for eight km through various obstacles and conducted target shooting.

China placed first in the relay race with a time of 1:08:56.

China's overall results within the "Seaborne Assault" also ranked first, according to the council of referees.

Speaking highly of China's organization of the "Seaborne Assault" and judgments of the performances, all five countries unanimously agreed upon the results and signed the meeting summary.

This is the first time the Seaborne Assault competition has been hosted by China. The competition consists of three events, a short obstacle course, survival trail and relay race, and runs from July 30 to Aug. 10.

The closing ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday.
