PLA sends troops to attend int'l military contests in Russia

Upon invitation of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) will send a 531-member delegation to participate in the Russia International Military Games 2015.

The 531 soldiers come from the Army, Navy and Air Force of the PLA. They will attend all the contests in 12 events, which cover professional skills of more than 10 arms including the armored force, artillery force, air defense force, reconnaissance force, engineers, anti-chemical force, vehicle drivers, marine corps, air force aviation and airborne forces.

The late July will witness the Chinese servicemen embarking on their journey to Russia and arrive at the contest venues located in 10 states.

The competitions of the Russia International Military Games 2015 will kick off simultaneously at the 10 venues on August 1 and conclude on August 15 .

The military hardware of the PLA delegation will be delivered by railway transportation to Russia. The first special train carrying hardware of the PLA delegation pulled out of the Manchuria Pass and entered the Russian territory on July 7.

A batch of hardware and some Army members of the PLA delegation arrived in Novosibirsk on July 13 to participate in the "Masters of reconnaissance" international contest, which will be held in August at the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School training complex, said a news report on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
