The Chinese peacekeeping secondary hospital in Mali held a short farewell ceremony for two Chadian peacekeeping servicemen who were discharged from the Chinese peacekeeping hospital on December 21, 2014, local time.

3 Chadian peacekeepers were injured by the explosion of a landmine while performing task on December 2, local time.

Upon the notice from the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), the Chinese peacekeeping hospital immediately sent people to evacuate the 3 wounded to the hospital for treatment.

The condition of one of the three Chadian soldiers was serious. After receiving necessary treatment, the Chadian soldier, under escort of 4 Chinese medical workers, was sent by a UN plane to a UN tertiary hospital in Dakar, capital of Senegal, for further treatment.

According to Gao Yun, leader of the Chinese peacekeeping medical detachment in Mali, since early October, the security situation in the mission area has been worsening and a number of incidents resulting in casualties of peacekeepers have occurred. The Chinese peacekeeping secondary hospital has given emergency treatment to 26 wounded peacekeepers.
