Paratroopers with the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and their Indonesian counterpart held a joint counter-terrorism drill on Monday.

The joint drill, which was approved by the Central Military Commission (CMC), was the second between the two countries after the first was held in Indonesia in 2013, Shen Jinke, spokesman of the PLAAF said.

The drill targeted on basic skills, group counter-terrorism tactics, parachuting and others. The drill improved airborne troop ability for a diverse set of missions and deepened military ties between the two countries, Shen said.

The PLAAF has held a number of joint drills and military exchanges with air forces from other countries, helping other countries in understanding PLAAF, he said.

The PLAAF will expand cooperation with air forces of other countries with a more open, confident and pragmatic attitude to mutually address crises and challenges, and promote peace and stability, Shen said.
