'Peace Ark' hospital ship starts actual-troop drill

The hospital ship "Peace Ark" of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) participating in the Rim of the Pacific-2014 (RIMPAC 2014) multinational naval exercise finished all its medical exchange activities at port in Hawaii on July 15, 2014, local time, and moved on to the phase of actual-troop drills.

The hospital ship "Peace Ark" unmoored and left Pearl Harbor at 08:00 in the morning, sailing towards the designated sea area for the half-month-long maritime actual-troop drills.

During the 21-day stay at port since its arrival at Pearl Harbor on June 24, the hospital ship "Peace Ark" participated in and organized 17 academic forums, carried out discussions with medical personnel from 11 countries, including the US, Canada and Australia, on such 20 topics as military medical training and medical rescue in military operations.
