PLA Navy concludes 2014 pilot-cadet selection

The 2014 pilot-cadet selection of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) concluded on July 15. 2014.

The cadets this year are selected from Beijing and other 6 provinces such as Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Anhui and Hubei, as well as 3 military academies, namely the PLA Naval Engineering University, the PLA Naval Aeronautical Engineering College, and the PLA Dalian Naval Academy.

The naval pilot-cadets enrolled this year are likely to be selected as pilots of carrier-borne aircraft.

The naval pilot-cadets will receive a full-time education at the naval aviation academies for 5 years.

The PLA Navy also introduces a new medical assessment standard for pilot-cadet selection this year to meet the higher requirements for aircraft carrier pilots in the future.
