Senior Chinese officers to visit Portugal, Switzerland

Zhang Yang, member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and his delegation left Beijing on Monday to pay an official visit to Portugal and Switzerland at the invitation of the militaries of the two countries.

His entourage is composed of Zhang Jianping, deputy commander of the PLA Air Force, Cheng Tongyi, deputy political commissar and director of the Political Department of the PLA Beijing Military Area Command (MAC), and Ding Haichun, director of the Political Department of the PLA Navy.
