A People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy fleet concluded a drill in designated training areas of the West Pacific on Tuesday.

The Nanhai Fleet returned to the South China Sea through the Bashi Channel, an international waterway linking the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

During the three-day training session, the fleet conducted target practice drills using live ammunition in public waters of the West Pacific, as well as conducted exercises related to maintaining maritime rights, offshore mobile interception and controlling important sea areas.

Foreign warships followed the fleet for a lengthy period of time. The fleet was on high alert and handled the situation in accordance with international law and common practices of navies worldwide.
