Flying combat jets are no longer an all-male profession anymore in China. The country's first group of female fighter pilots have completed their first solo missions navigating the J-10 fighter jets, designed and manufactured by China.

Equipped with the latest type of flight gear, these female pilots stepped into the J-10 fighter jets and took off. After ten minutes of flight they reached the targeted area and completed a series of manoeuvres including diving.

In May 2005, the Air Force of the People's Liberation Army recruited female combat pilots for the very first time, following a global trend to enable women to enter military service in the air. China has now become the fourth country in the world to have female combat pilots after the US, UK and Germany.
