A joint tabletop exercise of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief between the Chinese and American armed forces was held in Chengdu,capital city of southwest China's Sichuan province, from Nov. 29 to 30, 2012. The drill subject is joint humanitarian rescue and disaster relief after earthquake, and the drill includes four stages such as task initiation, force projection, joint rescue and relief operation, and task handover and evacuation. This is the 8th humanitarian assistance and disaster reduction exchange activity held by the Chinese and American armed forces since 1997. Military personnel from the two countries participated in the drill.
