Some organic units and equipment of the three services of the Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) began to conduct rotation on the early morning of November 25, 2012. This is the 15th large-scale rotation of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison since its station in Hong Kong.

The newly-arrived troops were composed of army, naval and air force detachments. The troops into and out of Hong Kong held simple yet solemn defense take-over ceremonies at the San Wai Army Barracks, the Stonecutter's Island Naval Barracks and the Shek Kong Air Force Barracks respectively. The whole rotation was carried out in good order. So far, some organic units and equipment of the three services of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison have successfully completed the 15th normal rotation of the garrison since its station in Hong Kong. The newly-arrived officers and men expressed that they would strictly abide by the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Law of the People's Republic of China on Garrisoning the HKSAR and other local laws and regulations of the HKSAR, and faithfully perform their duties, so as to make contributions to maintaining the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.

According to Zhao Dong, spokesman of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, the number of personnel and the quantity of equipment of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison would remain unchanged after rotation. Meanwhile, the soldiers of the garrison who had completed their service have recently retired and left Hong Kong for their hometown in China's mainland. The outgoing officers and men hoped to express their gratitude to all sectors of society and residents of Hong Kong for the care and support to their work and life through the Information Office of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison.
