Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie held talks with his Croatian counterpart Ante Kotromanovic in Beijing Monday, during which they pledged to further military exchanges and cooperation.

Liang hailed the state-to-state ties, saying the bilateral relationship has maintained sound development momentum since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 20 years ago.

Bilateral military ties should be promoted in line with the development of the state-to-state ties, Liang said, expressing the hope of advancing military cooperation with Croatia.

Kotromanovic said Croatia will bolster military exchanges and cooperation with China in such fields as personnel training, peace-keeping and combating piracy, and work together with China to enhance bilateral relations.
