2012-03-05 13:33 China Military Online     Web Editor: Xu Aqing comment

A series of military skill contests were held on "Haikou" warship of the 10th Chinese naval escort taskforce of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in recent days during its escorting mission in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the Somali coast, in an effort to enhance the professional capabilities of the officers and men.

These contests consisted of both basic theoretical assessment of basic theories of escort, outline knowledge, watch officer and English, and some common subjects such as rope-knotting, damage control, wartime rescue and chemical defense, covering items of navigation, electromechanics, rigging, chemical protection, and health care among others.
