On the sixth day of the first lunar month of 2012, the reporter visited a destroyer flotilla of the North China Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). Not long after the Spring Festival, two warships of the flotilla will set sail for a training mission in the open sea.

At the dock where the "Qingdao" warship anchors, Song Youtao, political commissar of the warship, told the reporter that the crew of the warship had been busy preparing for the sail for months.

In the meeting room of the "Qingdao" warship, a work flow diagram for the oceangoing mission preparation records in detail all the preparation work done by the crew during the Spring Festival period. During this period, they studied in depth the plan and the pre-plans for the oceangoing training, fully calculated problems they might encounter and came up with "50 solutions".

At another dock of the port, the officers and men of the "Yantai" warship that is to set sail soon are anything but sluggish. They were carrying out mooring operation on the foredeck. They conducted training every day during the Spring Festival period since operations like lateral replenishment and abreast replenishment at sea are indispensable during the sail.
