United in Heart｜A century-old hotel that witnessed the dawn of the CPPCC

Set on Harbin's Central Street, the Modern Hotel has stood through one historic turning point after another.

More than seventy years ago, representatives of the CPC Central Committee met here with non-communist parties and personages who had "traveled north" to prepare for the new CPPCC and discuss the founding of a new state.

From this very place, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference set sail. Weathering a century of change, the Modern Hotel still stands tall—bearing witness to those momentous years and to the first light of New China's birth.
