"Takaichi must resign," "Apologize now," "Take back your words"… Recently, many Japanese netizens have voiced strong discontent on social media over Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's erroneous remarks on China's Taiwan. Takaichi's wrongful remarks have shaken Japan's political arena, creating a situation of "Japan against Japan." Former Japanese politicians, lawmakers and major Japanese media all have condemned the remarks.

In response to Takaichi's wrongful remarks, China acted swiftly, issuing a series of statements, including summoning a Japanese ambassador and criticizing a Japanese official's remarks as a severe interference in internal affairs.

If Takaichi keeps "stirring up trouble," she could plunge into the biggest crisis of "Japan against Japan." Beyond whether she can hold onto the prime minister's seat, she risks pushing Japan into an irreparable abyss.
