An ancient narrow alley, only two meters wide and less than 100 meters long, is known as the "broadest" alley in China.
The story started with a dispute over property boundaries between Zhang family and Wu family in East China's Anhui Province 300 years ago, but it ended with a settlement with each family moving back their walls by a meter.
The settlement stands as a model of harmonious and courteous neighbor relations in China.
Today, at the end of the alley stands a memorial archway engraved with the Chinese word for "courtesy," and the tradition of good-neighborliness will continue to be passed on from generation to generation.
