(W.E. Talk) Italian economist: China is on the right track with innovation and stronger domestic demand

Lorenzo Codogno, former Chief Economist and Director General of Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and Visiting Professor of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), said in an interview with China News Network that China is becoming increasingly competitive on the global stage. He noted that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has once again underscored innovation and self-reliance in science and technology.

While strengthening domestic consumption may be challenging, Codogno believes it is undoubtedly a positive and right direction for China. For Europe, he added, easing geopolitical tensions and upholding multilateral cooperation along with China are equally crucial. (Chen Tianhao, Shao Zilu)
