Bao Yinan, an associate research fellow at the Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance, criticized the U.S. "Freedom of Navigation Operations" in a recent interview with China News Network, calling them high-profile but ineffective.

He said under the guise of so-called "freedom of navigation," the U.S. has consistently engaged in military provocations across global waters. “While these operations may appear assertive and high-profile, they have yielded minimal practical results.”

Far from altering the established realities in the relevant maritime regions, these actions have instead become a source of tension and confrontation, significantly destabilizing the international maritime order, he added. (Feng Xiaoyan)
