The Nanyang Volunteer Drivers and Mechanics Memorial Hall houses the stirring stories of a special group of "returnees".

They were the Nanyang volunteer drivers and mechanics who returned from Southeast Asia during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

They braved air raids and raced along perilous cliffs along the Burma Road, building a "lifeline of the Chinese people's resistance against Japanese aggression" with steering wheels in their hands.

With their lives, blood and sweat, they composed a heroic and magnificent chapter in the history of overseas Chinese patriotism. Their names may be unfamiliar, but their deeds will forever reverberate through history. We salute the shared patriotism across borders and oceans.
