U.S.-Philippines military drills essentially mutual exploitation: expert

The U.S. and the Philippines launched large-scale military exercises in the South China Sea region recently, involving several other countries, disrupting regional peace and stability.

Chen Xiangmiao, director of the World Navy Research Center at the National Institute for South China Sea Studies, analyzed that these massive joint military drills primarily serve their own strategic interests.

He described the relationship behind these exercises as  essentially mutually exploitative, covered by surface-level solidarity. (Zhang Aolin)
