Local government recreates wedding photos for elderly couples in Changchun
Local government recreated wedding photos for nine elderly couples in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, on Tuesday. Professional photographers were invited to shoot wedding photos for elderly couples free of charge.
For the majority of the couples, it was the first formal wedding photo of their lives.
Wang Xiushan and Qiu Wenxia were engaged in 1979 and got married in 1980. Due to limited resources, only a portrait was taken during their engagement. When registering for marriage, the couple took a full-length photo of themselves sitting on a motorcycle.
"My daughter signed us up for this event. We readily agreed. After all, we could change ourselves a bit. We came up with the best state, and the photographer was meticulous," said Qiu Wenxia, Wang Xiushan's wife.
Many of the senior couples who attended the event indicated that life is getting better and better after retirement. This allows them to devote more time to pursuing beauty and happiness. "We're all retired now, back to our families. We don't have to work anymore, so we're in the mood to pursue beauty in our lives," Qiu told China News Service on Tuesday.
