Fairy Festival celebrated in SW China's Xizang

Women performed traditional dance at a temple on Monday to celebrate the Fairy's Day in Lhasa, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.　 　

The Fairy's Day, known as the "Women's Festival" in Xizang, is marked on the 15th day of the 10th month of Lunar Calendar　for Xizang　Autonomous Region. The festival is to commemorate Buddha Aleanterre Brahm. 　

During the Fairy's Day celebration, local women are dressed in their traditional clothes and present the traditional ceremonial scarf "Hada" to their honorable goddess　at　temples and pray for happiness and joy. 　

There's an activity specialized for local girls and women on the day, that is, men are expected to give out red packets to women close to them. 　

"The festival atmosphere is stronger compared to what it used to be,"　said a Lhasa resident, "Life is getting better in every way."
