Elevators of Chongqing's Chaotianmen Bridge put into use
Elevators of the Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge have been put into use in southwest China's Chongqing, providing convenient walking experiences for local residents and tourists.
There are four elevators on both sides of the bridge. With a shaft height of about 65 meters, the two elevators on the north side of the bridge connect Beibin 2nd Road and the highway level of Chaotianmen Bridge; with a shaft height of about 58 meters, the two elevators on the south side of the bridge connect Fuxing Street and the highway level of Chaotianmen Bridge.
The vertical elevator on the south side provides a swift and efficient ride from the bridge deck, taking just a mere 30 seconds. Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge is a notable example of the city's leading bridge building technology in the world.
