Ice-snow tourism booms in Xinjiang during Spring Festival holiday

(ECNS) -- During the Spring Festival holiday, winter tourism in Xinjiang continued to heat up, echoing with the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Ice and snow activities have attracted lots of people.

In the General Ski Resort, Altay city, tourists poured in even on the last day of the spring festival. Advantages like an ideal vertical drop, quality snow condition, long and windless ski season make this resort the first choice of many tourists. Some ski lovers have become regulars.

The Salim Lake Scenic Area is another hot spot, with an average of more than 20,000 tourists per day. In the Moon Bay scenic spot, tourists got obsessed with the exquisite ice sculptures and snow sculptures, snow rings, snow karts, snowmobiles, plows and other experience projects. The Dahekou scenic spot along the Bosten Lake also offers tourists more than a dozen of ice entertainment projects.

Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region boasts unique and abundant ice and snow resources, and the ice and snow season lasts for more than 5 months in many places.
