New cargo air route links Kashgar, Islamabad

(ECNS)-- A cargo flight departed the Kashgar International Airport, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region for Islamabad, capital of Pakistan on Wednesday.

The flight carried about 16.4 tons of daily necessities including clothes, shoes and hardware, with a total value of $310,000. Kashgar's air cargoes have suspended operations since the outbreak of COVID-19.

It is the second international cargo airline after the Kashgar-Karachi route.

The airline is expected to have three flights each week, with 16 tons of cargo on each flight.
