(ECNS) -- A large amount of pottery, stone tools, jade articles, and bone objects have been unearthed from the Gedachuan archaeological site in Zhangjiachuan, Gansu Province, since 2020.

The Gedachuan site dates back 6,100 to 5,600 years ago, the early to late period of the Yangshao, a Neolithic culture that existed along the Yellow River in China.

The discovery confirms that the Longxi Loess Plateau in Gansu was another central area for Yangshao Culture.

Large grain storage pits and millet remains found here provide physical evidence for studies into the early life of the Yangshao.
