Rare white-lipped deer spotted in Qinghai

(ECNS) -- Two rare white-lipped deer were filmed on a hillside in Banma County in the eastern Sanjiangyuan area for the first time.

Endemic to China, white-lipped deer mainly distributes in the alpine steppe of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its marginal area at an altitude of 3,000 to 5,000 meters.

White-lipped deer was listed on the Red List of Endangered Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2013.
