(ECNS) -- A traditional moon ritual was held at a scenic spot in Wuyuan, East China's Jiangxi Province, to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Participants wore traditional Chinese Hanfu clothing and carried special umbrellas and lanterns as they marched to the moon-worship platform accompanied by classical music.

They worshiped the moon with traditional Chinese rites, including burning incense, offering wine and saying prayers.

As an essential custom in ancient China, moon worship has been used to pray for peace, harmony, and family reunions since ancient times.
