(ECNS) -- Liu Wudai is an inheritor of China's intangible court-style, cloth shoe-making heritage. The handmade shoes craft inherited by Liu boasts a history of over one hundred years.

To inherit and promote the craft, he has built a self-funded museum on cloth shoe culture. Liu has collected over 1,200 pairs of shoes from different periods and ethnicities in his shoe museum, along with embroidered shoes and clogs, and various cobbling tools.

Making shoes by hand is both a craft and culture, Liu said. He set up the shoe museum in 2016 to help more people understand the tradition. In order to better inherit the craft, Liu constantly improves his skills.

Today, Liu has developed more than 20 kinds of products with an annual output of more than 200,000 pairs. They are very popular in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Some have been exported to South Korea, Russia and other countries.
