(ECNS) -- Folk songs are typically those sung in the fields during or after work, which are popular in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Among local ethnic minorities, the Zhuang people love to sing folk songs the most.

In May 2006, the Zhuang folk song fair was approved to be listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

The folk song fair developed from sacrificial and dance ceremonies held during tribal times.

In the later period of social development, these sacrificial activities gradually evolved into means of communication, mostly focused on singing instead of dancing.

In recent years, with the development of the Internet, Guangxi folk songs are no longer confined to a remote corner. It has become globally popular.
