Over 50 ancient Chinese, Italian swords on show in Hong Kong

(ECNS) -- Over 50 ancient swords collected by Chinese and Italian are on display in Hong Kong for the first time.

The exhibition, titled "Way of the Sword", introduces the origin, development and transformation of sword and samurai traditions in China and Italy from ancient to early modern times.

Sword of Goujian of the late Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BC) of ancient China, European Migration Period (375–568) swords, Sabre of House Qi of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), more than 20 ancient martial arts treatises and manuscripts from the 16th century and historical relics related to sword culture are included in the exhibition.

Goujian (reigned 496 –465 BC) was the king of the ancient China's Kingdom Yue near the end of the Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BC).

House Qi was a family leading the coastal defense against pirate activities in the 16th century of ancient China.

The exhibition, which will end on April 4, has also adopted new media interactive devices to enrich the audience's experience.
