(ECNS) -- The exhibition of "Light, Infinite Imagination, Virtually Versailles" is in full swing in Shanghai Xintiandi, a cultural and social destination in the city.

It is the first time that the Palace of Versailles has debuted in China with digital images, and held a large-scale digitalized exhibition overseas.

Shanghai Xintiandi, the first stop of the China tour, covers an area of 2,000 square meters and is divided into 11 exhibition halls.

Through 360-degree images, immersive interactive tours, holograms, virtual reality and other high-tech measures, audience can appreciate the landmarks, century-old collections and some important historical moments of the palace.

To create an immersive experience, a perfumer created a fragrance inspired by the garden plants of the Palace of Versailles.

The exhibition will run in Shanghai until May 31, and then travel to eight other cities in China.

The Palace of Versailles in France is a model architecture of the 17th century "glorious age".

Together with the Forbidden City in China, Buckingham Palace in the UK, the White House in the U.S. and the Kremlin in Russia, it is known as one of the "world's five great palaces".
