Glossy ibises appear at wetland in Yunnan province

They will provide scientific data for the research and protection of this species.

Glossy ibis is named for its feathers that shine brightly in the sun.

Glossy ibis, a first-class, state-level protected species, is extremely rare in China. Since the bird had not been detected in the country for many years, experts thought the ibis had become "extinct".
